Assistant Managers (two openings)

Position Summary:

Pilates Social Clemson has a target opening date of August 2024! We are in search of charismatic, positive, and energetic leaders to join our team. The ideal candidates should have excellent communication skills, have an entrepreneurial spirit, and be passionate about the value of movement for overall health. The Assistant Managers will be outward ambassadors of Pilates Social Clemson and must always show Pilates Social Clemson in a positive light. 

The Assistant Managers will work together with the owners of Pilates Social Clemson to develop, coordinate, and supervise the overall direction of Pilates Social Clemson. He/she ensures continuous professional growth and development of all Pilates Social Clemson members. He/she will oversee that Pilates Instructors provide cutting-edge mind body instruction through a variety of educational and fun classes that promotes mind and body well-being leading to positive self-esteem in a safe environment. The Assistant Managers are responsible for providing excellent customer service that will further enhance the member’s mind body fitness experience. They will also assist in creating schedules and completing record keeping according to standard operating procedures.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Works with owners to develop safe, professional, exciting, and comprehensive mind body programs to ensure clients are satisfied with their comprehensive personal health and fitness goals
  • Coordinates class offerings, schedules, and staffing according to national standards
  • Monitors and instructs clients during class and private training sessions on the safe and effective use of reformer Pilates training equipment
  • Coordinates private Pilates training programs with our instructors based on referring physician’s instructions
  • Refers members to appropriate instructor or class based on level and knowledge when necessary
  • Promotes and sells all Pilates Social Clemson programs, services, and merchandise throughout the studio and community
  • Provides education and motivation to personal trainers to sell Pilates Social Clemson programs and services to their personal training clients
  • Meets with Owners/Leadership consistently to review business plans, business development, and marketing strategies to achieve business goals.
  • Makes hiring, promotion, scheduling, disciplinary, and termination recommendations to the Owners/Leadership
  • Liaison with Clemson University – seeks opportunities with Clemson Athletics, Clemson staff, Clemson students, the local business community, local organizations, local churches, corporations, nonprofits. Specifically, the Assistant Managers will identify courses, certifications, partnerships with a variety of stakeholders within a 35-mile radius.
  • Works in tandem with our marketing firm, Think Media Communications, to promote Pilates Social Clemson on social media, in the press, on our website, and in the community.
  • Inventories equipment regularly, and evaluates equipment quality and identifies any repairs necessary.
  • Keeps records up-to date, both with a filing system and with a digital back up.
  • Help maintain Quick Books – organizes account payables and receivables.
  • Manages staff’s punctuality, professionalism, class dynamics, etc.
  • Assistant Managers will look for opportunities of expansion with merchandise, other services, etc. of Pilates Social Clemson.
  • Overall management of office and property needs, will need to be hands on and flexible with tasks that need to be accomplished.

Position Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED, College bachelor’s degree (or working towards this goal)
  • 1-2 years of professional experience
  • Pilates Instruction Certification – able to teach a class when lack of instructor (illness, vacation, etc.) – a bonus!
  • CPR and AED Certified – a bonus!
  • Must embody the highest caliber of character
  • Must be trainable, open-minded, and positive
  • Must be able to take direction from Owners/Leadership
  • Must be diplomatic, tactful, and respectful to Owners/Leadership and work well with other employees and clients

Preferred Requirements (these would be a bonus!):

  • PEAK Pilates Certification
  • Additional Certification such as American Council on Exercise, National Strength and Conditions Association or American College of Sports Medicine
  • Management and sales experience

Pay:

Negotiable, based on experience.

Pilates Certified Instructors (multiple openings)

Position Summary:

Pilates Social Clemson has a target opening date of August 2024! We are in search of charismatic, positive, and energetic Certified Pilates Instructors to join our team. The ideal candidate should have excellent communication skills and be passionate about the value of movement for overall health. You should be comfortable working with people of all ages and fitness abilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct reformer Pilates classes for individuals or groups, focusing on proper form and technique.
  • Develop and implement personalized reformer Pilates programs based on clients’ goals and fitness levels.
  • Provide guidance and support to clients during their reformer Pilates sessions.
  • Demonstrate exercises and assist clients in performing them correctly.
  • Monitor and track clients’ progress, adjusting workouts as needed.
  • Educate clients on the principles of Pilates and the benefits of regular practice.
  • Maintain a clean and organized studio environment. Responsible for leaving equipment clean after each class.

Requirements:

  • Certification in Pilates instruction from a recognized program.
  • Previous experience teaching reformer Pilates.
  • Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and exercise science.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to motivate and inspire clients to achieve their fitness goals.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Must embody the highest caliber of character.
  • Must be trainable, open-minded, and positive.
  • Must be able to take direction from Owners/Leadership.
  • Must be diplomatic, tactful, and respectful to Owners/Leadership and work well with other employees and clients.

 

Additional Skills (Preferred):

  • Experience in fitness sales.
  • Background in dance or personal training.
